This is a scarce first edition, first printing of Daniel Seymour’s first and only book, “A Loud Song” which was the first book published by the Lundsrum Press, New York in 1971. Founded by Ralph Gibson and funded in part by Danny Seymour, Lustrum published the first US edition of Robert Frank's The Lines of My Hand and Tulsa by Larry Clark. Containing over 70 black and white photogravures, A Loud Song was a landmark book in the new personal documentary style: Tulsa, The Lines of My Hand, Vagabond by Gaylord Herron, Danny Lyon's Paper Negative and Bill Burke's books all owe something to A Loud Song. Seymour was a friend and neighbor of Robert Frank's on the Bowery in New York City. They worked together on a number of projects. The last being Frank's film on the Rolling Stones: CS Blues. Shortly after the filming was done Seymour was killed on a sail boat in the Caribbean.

Measuring 10” x 10”, the book is saddle-stitched and bound in photographically illustrated stiff wraps. The condition of the wraps and book is FINE and quite uncommon in this fantastic condition.
