Take Ivy by T. Hayashida
Limited Edition, 2006
Mint Condition with Obi
This is an exceptionally rare second edition of the cult photobook “Take Ivy” published by Hachette Fujingaho, Tokyo
in 2006 in a limited edition that sold out in 1 day. Originally published in
1965, “Take Ivy” was virtually unknown until it was discovered by
Japanese bloggers. The book has taken on cult status
in the U.S. and Japan and is
almost impossible to find. During the early 1960’s, Hayashida visited each of the Ivy League colleges and documented the fashion style of
the era. He captured the “preppy style” perfectly.
Over 4 decades have passed and the “prep” lifestyle images in “Take
Ivy” have become the standard for “preppy fashion” in Japan and
around the world.
Containing over 140 photographs in black&white and color, the book measures approximately
10” x 7.5” and is bound in red cloth boards with each of the crests
of the Ivy League Schools printed on the front cover and comes with a
photographically illustrated dust jacket and OBI. The book, dust jacket, and
Obi are in MINT condition. This is a great opportunity to own a remarkably
scarce title in PRISTINE condition.
Photographs of
the dust jacket, obi, book cover and numerous photographs
contained in the book appear below. Please note that although the photographs
appear digitized as thumbnails, they are viewable in the photo viewer by
running your mouse over the thumbnail. You can also click on the thumbnail to
open a separate window where the picture is viewable as a slideshow.
