This is a very rare signed deluxe first edition of Shelby Lee Adam’s critically acclaimed “Appalachian Portraits” consisting of a signed and numbered (24 of 25) first edition, first printing of “Appalachian Portraits”, an 8” X 10” archivally printed silver gelatin print entitled, "Brice & Crow on Porch, 1992” that is signed and numbered (24 of 25) by Shelby Lee Adams, and a custom gold embossed slip case designed by Brewer & Cantelmo that houses the book and print. Shelby Lee Adams produced this limited edition when “Appalachian Portraits” was published in 1993 and it was not available through commercial channels of distribution. The noted photography critic and author Vicki Goldberg in her wonderful essay on Adam’s Appalachian works wrote, “Adams looks at a difficult subject with an artist's eye.
