A Game Men Play by Vance Bourjaily
Limited First Edition, First Printing, 1980
Franklin Library
Inscribed and Signed by Vance Bourjaily
This is the first limited edition, first printing of “A Game Men Play by Vance Bourjaily. Published by the Franklin Library in 1980, this is the first “thriller” written by Bourjaily. The inscription on the limitation page reads, “For Gertrude Brown Albrecht, from Tina, Robin and Vance Bourjaily, and (probably) Redbird Kink Peters and Redbird Columbine Hildi. Signed by Vance Bourjaily, May 1980, Redbird Farm, Iowa City, Iowa.”
This is a very rare book. Since the limited first editions were issued unsigned, it is rare to find one that is author signed. This edition is not only author signed but inscribed. The book features the usual Franklin Library fineries of a full leather cover, gold gilding and gilting, silk moiré endpapers and a matching satin bookmark. I am classifying the book as Near Fine with only the slightest of shelfwear and rubs to spine hubs. A booklet with Notes from the Editors about the edition is included.
At the bottom of this listing are photographs of the book and inscription.
