“Images 1923 – 1974” was published by New York Graphic Society Boston in 1981 and includes a separate print entitled, “Winter Sunrise, Sierra Nevada, from Lone Pine, California” that is initialed by Ansel Adams along with the notation "this reproduction approved and initialed by the photographer." The first printing was in 1974. This is the stated second printing issued in October 1981 that utilized the original films from the 1974 printing. The forward to the book was written by Ansel Adams friend and Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Wallace Stegner. From the publisher, “These are the finest images of one of the great American artists of the 20th century selected by Adams himself to represent his career over a 50 year span. The superb extended range photolithography of this book, closely supervised by Adams at every step, captures the full scale of the photographer's spectrum.”

Containing 115 stunning photolithographic reproductions and measuring approximately 14” x 17.5”, the book is bound in grey and black cloth covered boards with a photographically illustrated dust jacket. The condition of the book is FINE with a Near Fine unclipped dust jacket that has several surface creases. This edition is accompanied by the print “Winter Sunrise, Sierra Nevada, from Lone Pine, California” that is initialed by Ansel Adams along with the notation "this reproduction approved and initialed by the photographer." The print measures approximately 13” by 15.5” and is in FINE condition.
