Easton Press Deluxe Leather Bound Edition

MINT Condition – Still in the Publisher’s Shrinkwrap

This is a beautiful oversized leather bound edition of “Mathew B. Brady: America’s First Great Photographer” published by the Easton Press in conjunction with Chartwell Books. Mathew Brady revolutionized photography and brought home the horrors of war. His work is now recognized as the first in-depth photo-documentation of warfare. A majority of the photographs span both pages. The publisher has taken a conscious decision to reproduce the photographs without retouching or any attempt being made to repair damage that is evident on the original glass plates and other materials, nor have archivists notes or numbers been removed.

From the publisher: “This spectacular, oversized Collector Edition features Mathew Brady's breathtaking photographs of the Civil War and much more.  Impressive in size and scope, this volume covers Brady's portrait work, including the now famous image of Lincoln and his son, as well as the Civil War on land and sea, and his unique photographs of life during the war.  All photographs are exact reproductions of the originals.”

Measuring 16.75" x 12" and containing 256 pages, the book is bound in full leather boards and features silk moiré endpapers, gold gilded covers, gold gilting on the page ends, and a built in silk bookmark.

The book is in MINT condition and still in the publisher’s shrinkwrap.
