The Complete Arabian Nights by Sir Richard Francis Burton

Complete 17 Volume Collection

Easton Press

FINE Condition

This is a beautifully crafted 17 volume matching heirloom collection of “The Complete Arabian Nights also known as The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night” published by the Easton Press. From the publisher, “Your magic carpet is waiting! Now, after more than 100 years under virtual lock and key, the world's most fantastic stories await you in their original, uncensored versions. We all remember Aladdin and his magic lamp, Sinbad the sailor, Ali Baba and his 40 thieves, and many more—all the tales with which Shahrázád entranced King Shahryár over 1,001 nights to keep him from beheading her as he had each of his previous wives after a single night of marriage! Beginning an enchanting story each evening, Shahrazad always withheld the ending: A thousand and one nights later, her life was spared forever. Treat yourself to this sumptuous experience of tantalizing delights, wonderfully illustrated and beautifully bound to surpass the splendor of Sir Richard Burton's original edition. All the stories are as first issued—not a word has been deleted.”

Each volume measures approximately 9.5” x 6.5” and features beautiful illustrations as well as the usual Easton Press fineries including full leather covers, silk moiré endpapers, gold gilding and gilting and built in satin bookmarks.

The collection is in FINE condition and none of the volumes appear to have never been opened. There are no bookplates or signs of previous ownership. The collection will be shipped free of charge by USPS Media Mail.

Stock photographs of the collection as well as the front page of the prospectus appear below.
