This magnificent Deluxe Limited Edition is a leather-bound facsimile reproduction of the lavishly illustrated Cassell's Bible first published in America in 1860. "No illustrated Bible has ever equaled this in the artistic merit of its pictures" declared the New York Tribune. With over 800 illustrations, almost every page-spread features at least one image of which the New York Times called "not simply good, but of a rare degree of excellence"—are the work of the most eminent illustrators of the age and even include a number of engravings by the great Gustave Doré.
The Easton Press spared no expense in the production of this deluxe limited edition that was limited to 600 copies with this being number 548. Included with the Bible is a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Measuring 13" x 10" and containing 1508 pages with over 800 illustrations by the preeminent illustrators of the 19th century, the Bible is bound in beautiful embossed full leather boards with silk moiré endpapers, gold gilded covers, gold gilting on the page ends, built in silk bookmarks and a custom-crafted slipcase for storage and display. The Bible features the King James Text, a concise concordance, authoritative marginal notes, and a Family Register.
