This is a deluxe limited edition reproduction of the 1793 illustrated “Stockdale” edition of “The Fables of Aesop” published by the Easton Press. All 112 of the engravings from the original edition are present in the set and are hand tipped in on heavier paper than the text it is printed on. There are a total of 110 stories.
The Easton Press spared no expense in the production of this deluxe limited edition that was limited to 300 copies. Each book comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity but the edition number is unknown as the books are in the original packaging and are still sealed. Measuring 10.25" x 6.25", the books are bound in beautiful embossed full leather boards and features silk moiré endpapers, gold gilded covers, gold gilting on the page ends, and a built in silk bookmark.
