This is a beautiful leather bound facsimile of the critically acclaimed “Peter Pan and Wendy” published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1979 and printed and bound in England. Originally published in 1921, the book features the incredible illustrations of Mabel Lucie Atwell and was published to mark the centenary of the birth of the illustrator.
Measuring 10" x 7.25" (152 pages) with 12 tipped-in color plates including the frontispiece all protected by descriptive tissue guards as well as numerous in-text black-and-white illustrations, the book is beautifully bound in full navy blue leather with embossed design in gold, brown, and cream on the front cover with gilt lettering on cover and gilt spine, gold gilted pages ends, navy silk moiré endpapers, and built in satin bookmark.
The book is in FINE- condition with a very slightly bowed back board and a very minor rub to the top tip. Overall, this is an exceptional copy of a beautifully produced edition of one of the great classics.
