This is beautiful leather bound facsimile of the critically acclaimed “Shakespeare’s Tragedy of Hamlet” published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1983 and printed and bound in England. Originally published in 1910, the book features the text “The Story of Hamlet” by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch and incredible illustrations of W.G. Simmonds that are considered by many to be among his finest works.
Measuring 10.5" x 7" with 31 tipped-in color plates including the frontispiece all protected by descriptive tissue guards, the book is beautifully bound in full leather with stamped and gilded design on the front and spine, gold gilted pages ends, silk moiré endpapers, and built in satin bookmark.
The book is in FINE- condition with a very slightly bowed back board. Overall, this is an exceptional copy of a beautifully produced edition of one of the great classics.
