Spanning the period from 1789 to 1795, from the start of the Revolution to the height of the Reign of Terror and its aftermath. With numerous b&w illustrations by Sullivan throughout. Includes frontispiece with tissue guard in each volume, 30+ full-page illustrations, and many portraits in the text.

Modest rubbing/wear and signs of age, but very well-preserved overall. Sound, tight bindings. No owner signatures or bookplates. Text clean and unmarked. An impressive set in lovely condition, as shown. Spines lightly faded; minor soiling & spotting to leather; minor wear to extremes; text lightly age-browned.
