Beautifully rebound binding in full red leather with gilt borders, lettering, raised bands, marbled endpapers, and the original front leather cover bound to the inside of the rebound cover. Top page edges are gold gilted.

First illustrated edition of Francis Parkman’s classic work featuring numerous full page and in-text illustrations by Frederic Remington printed on coated paper. The frontispiece is a Remington illustration which is protected by a tissue guard. Measures 9” x 6”.
Condition Report
The volume has a tight binding and secure & undamaged hinges. The leather remains whole and supple with minor rubbing to the spine. Internally complete and clean. The page ends evidence some minor soiling. Overall, a beautiful leather bound copy of Parkman’s most important work.
