Full black and green leather covered boards with heavy gold gild design. Each volume has extraordinary matching leather pastedowns in brown, green and black and features stunning mauve silk damask endsheets and blue silk page markers.

Gorgeous seven volume antiquarian collection limited to 500 collections with this being 110. Contained in the collection are illustrations from photographs of the Tennyson Country by Charles S. Olcott as well as a portrait of Alfred Lord Tennyson from a chalk drawing by M. Arnault that is displayed in the National Portrait Gallery, London . Each book measures 9” x 6”. The books in the collection are:

Volume 1: Juvenilia, The Lady of Shallot, English Idylls and Other Poems. Introduction by Henry van Dyke. 7 illustrations. 419 pages.

Volume 2: Juvenilia, The Princess in Memoriam. 8 illustrations. 310 pages.

Volume 3: Maud, Enoch Arden, The Window, The Lover’s Tale and Other Poems. 6 illustrations. 335 pages.

Volume 4: Idylls of the King. 6 illustrations. 410 pages.

Condition Report

All seven volumes are in remarkable shape with tight bindings and strong & secure hinges. The leather remains whole and supple with the most minimal of shelfwear. Internally complete and clean. A wonderful set overall that is rarely seen in such fine condition.
