This is beautiful leather bound facsimile of the critically acclaimed “The School of Scandal” published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1984 and printed and bound in England. Originally published in 1913, the book features the incredible illustrations of Hugh Thomson that are considered by many to be among her finest works.
Measuring 10.5" x 8" with 25 tipped-in color plates including the frontispiece all protected by descriptive tissue guards plus many smaller in-text illustrations, the book is beautifully bound in full red leather with gilt titles and pictorial decoration, gold gilted pages ends, silk moiré endpapers, and built in satin bookmark.
The book is in FINE condition. Overall, this is an exceptional copy of a beautifully produced edition of one of the great classics.
