This is a very attractive leather bound edition of “Paradise Lost” illustrated with 50 stunning full page illustrations by Gustave Dore published by Borders Classics in 2006. First published in 1667, Milton’s awe-inspiring, epic poem is considered by many to be the greatest in the English language. Incorporating elements from classical literature and, most notably, the Bible, Paradise Lost recreates the fall of Adam and Eve, bringing to life a moving quest for redemption in the fact of despair. It stands as one of the great pillars of Western culture.
Measuring 9.25" x 6.25" and containing 383 pages, the book is bound in full leather boards and features decorative endpapers, gold gilded covers, gold gilting on the page ends, and a built in silk bookmark.
