This is an extremely rare signed first edition, first printing of “Cy Twombly Photographs” published by Matthew Marks, New York in 1993. The book is the first publication devoted to Twombly’s photographs, their vivid colors paralleling the lush chromatics of his last decade of paintings and drawings. The photographs are assembled into thematic groups (classical sculpture, tulips, and trees) and then arranged within those groups into harmonic sequences.

Measuring approximately 10” x12” and consisting of 28 full color plates with an index of the photographs, the book is a hardcover with a photo illustrated dust jacket.

Both the book and dust jacket are in FINE condition and are protected by a mylar cover.

What makes this book special and extremely rare is the full page autograph treatment by Cy Twombly that reads, “To Ford and Cindy, Merry Xmas, Cy”. There are no known signed copies of this book making it a highly desirable collectible.
