This is a beautiful leather bound facsimile of the critically acclaimed “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1982 and printed and bound in England. Originally published in 1922, the book features the incredible illustrations of Gwynedd M. Hudson who passed away at the age of 26 but in her short life produced some remarkable illustrations most notably the illustrations for this book as well as J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan and Wendy.
Measuring approximately 10" x 7.25" (180 pages) with 12 tipped-in color plates including the frontispiece all protected by tissue guards as well as numerous in-text black-and-white illustrations, the book is beautifully bound in full maroon leather with embossed design in gold on the front cover with gilt lettering on the cover and spine, marbled endpapers, and built in satin bookmark.
The book is in FINE- condition with some very minor rubs to the spine . Overall, this is a wonderful copy of a beautifully produced edition of one of the great classics.
