Each book measures approximately 7.5” x 5” and is custom bound in full deep red oasis morocco leather with a spine treatment of five raised bands with decorative ruling as well as gilt titling, publication date, and a 007 device blocked in gilt. The covers are ruled in gold gilt with all page ends gold gilted. There are black endpapers with the spine from the original binding affixed to the last free endpaper. The condition of the set is FINE with a few volumes having very superficial surface wear or marks to the gold gilted page ends.

The books are housed in a unique bronze sculpture/book safe designed and fabricated by Francois Guillemin of The Firedance Studio in Hopewell, New Jersey. The Princeton Review commenting on his works wrote, “Guillemin (whose nickname is Le Corbeau) is the epitome of the clever, industrious crow in Aesop’s fable that slowly raises the water level in a pitcher by adding pebbles. He has vision and an insatiable curiosity. Working with designers, decorators, and world-renowned architects, including Michael Graves, Robert A.M. Stern, and Richard Meier, he’s fabricated custom metalwork for celebrities as well as institutions.” The sculpture is in FINE condition with no flaws.

Photographs of the sculpture, the books within the sculpture, and Francois Guillemin’s designs for the sculpture appear in the photo section of the listing.
