Published in Paris by L'Ariana Pictures Sarl in 1992, “David Hamilton: Twenty Five Years of an Artist” contains a large selection (several hundred) of B/W and color images by Hamilton Featured are his quintessentially "nice", innocently erotic images of beautiful nymph-like young ladies, usually partially or completely undraped. The photographs, mostly taken throughout the 1970's and 80's, also include some of his still lifes and landscapes. The extensive text by Phillippe Gautier, based on interviews with Hamilton, summarize his life and artistic career, and include numerous personal photographs. The images are very nicely reproduced in duotone.
Measuring approximately 10” x 10”, the book is bound in full black cloth with lettering on the spine and blind stamped on the front in a photographic dust jacket. The condition of the book is Very Good with some light dust stains and a small crack between the front board and flyleaf. The dust jacket is Very Good with some soiling and surface wear. There are no chips or tears to the dust jacket.
The book has been inscribed and signed by David Hamilton on the title page, “For Beebe, With Best Wishes, David Hamilton, 94”.
