Joel-Peter Witkin by Joel-Peter Witkin
First Edition, First Printing, 1986
Near FINE Condition
This is a first edition, first printing of Joel-Peter Witkin’s first monograph “Joel-Peter Witkin” published by Twelvestrees Press, Pasadena in 1985. Becoming increasing rare, Witkin’s first monograph introduced the world to his unique artistry that is not for the squeamish. Cadavers, transsexuals and animals are carefully arranged to create a mythology that could originate only in the imagination of this singular artist.
Measuring approximately 12” x 12”, the book contains 44 duotone prints and 2 reproduced drawings that are beautifully printed on heavy uncoated paper stock. The book is bound in black cloth covered boards with a black paper dust jacket. Includes exhibition history and bibliography. The book is in FINE condition. The dust jacket is in Near FINE condition with rubs to the head of the spine and tips and minor wear to the edges.
Photographs of the dust jacket cover as well as some images contained in the book appear in the photo section of the listing.
