Details: This is the first trade edition of “The Belles Heures (Book of Hours) of the Duke of Berry” published by George Braziller in 1974 that reproduces the miniatures found in the beautiful manuscript housed in The Cloisters Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The book features 127 full color, full page illustrations and 30 smaller black-and-white illustrations.
Measuring approximately 9.75” x 7.75” with 268 pages, the book is bound in blue cloth with a heraldic design stamped in gilt on the front cover and gilt-stamped lettering on spine. The book is housed in a protective slipcase with gilt lettering and a heraldic design on the front panel and the title stamped in gilt on the spine.
Condition Report: The book and slipcase are in FINE condition with the slipcase having very minimal surface wear.
