This is a very attractive signed leather binding that houses “The Big Book of Fairy Tales” published by Blackie and Son Limited, London, Glasgow, Bombay undated but research shows 1911 that features 12 full page color illustrations, 15 full page black and red illustrations, and numerous black-and-white illustrations by Charles Robinson. The book contains 30 classic fairy tales including Cinderella, Jack the Giant Killer, The Three Bears, The Ugly Duckling, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Blue Bear, Hansel and Gretel, Jack and the Beanstalk, Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots, Sindbad the Sailor, and Thumberline.
The book measures 10" x 8” with 344 pages and is bound red/brown morocco leather over marbled boards with a gilt decorated and titled spine, blind ruling to both boards, and silk head and tailbands. The fine leather binding was done by Atkinsons of Salisbury with their ticket pasted inside the back cover.
The binding is in FINE- condition with a minor bow to the front board.
