The Colorful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
Illustrated by W.W. Denslow
Determined Productions, 1965
Very Good Condition
This is a seldom seen edition of “The Colorful Wizard of Oz” published by Determined Productions, San Francisco in 1965. When open, the book measures 20” x 28” with one side of the page containing the original story and on the other side of page are W.W. Denslows' original drawings. As the publisher states on the title page, the book is designed for reading, coloring, painting, or decoration. In the true spirit of the 60’s, the book was designed to serve multiple purposes not the least of which is the coolest coloring book I’ve ever handled.
The book when closed measures 20” x 14” and is bound in illustrated soft cover wraps. The book is in Very Good+ condition with some shelf wear to the front cover, a thin scratch to the rear board, a corner crease to the front board not affecting the illustrations, and some slight bowing to the boards. The Denslow illustrations are in FINE condition with one of the illustrations having been colored in (quite well) by the previous owner. Overall, this is a very good copy of a rare Oz title.
Photographs of the book cover, title page, as well as some of the illustrations (including the colored-in illustration mentioned earlier) appear in the photo section of the listing.
