Binding Details: Beautiful contemporary bindings by the Sims Bindery of three-quarter morocco leather over marbled boards. The spines feature raised bands and decorative gilt embellishments and titling. There are gilt ruled boards and silk head and foot bands. Laid into the first volume is a signed card from Andrew Sims stating that the books were bound by the Sims Bindery.
Collection Details: Published in 1948 by Allan Wingate, Ltd., London, this is the complete first Chawton Edition of “The Novels of Jane Austen” that consists of six volumes - Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion.
Each volume measures approximately 7. 5” x 5”
Condition Report: The bindings are in FINE condition. Internally, the books are very clean with no signs of previous ownership.
