19 Volumes Loose as Issued in Leather Slipcase
This is a beautiful limited edition facsimile of Charles Dickens classic “The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club” published by the Easton Press in 1969 with this being number 628. The edition contains the 19 separate issues that were released in serial form by the original publisher, Chapman and Hall and is housed in a custom made slipcase which is made of leather and linen. This faithful facsimile contains the wonderful illustrations of “Phiz”, Robert Seymour and Hablot Knight Browne as well as the advertisements that appeared in back of each volume.
Each book measures approximately 9” x 6.5” and is bound in paper wraps. The volumes are housed in a leather and linen slipcase that measures 9.5” X 6.25” x 4”.
The books are in FINE condition. The slipcase is in Near FINE condition with some minor soiling to the linen and a small area on the bottom of the slipcase where the leather covers the linen that has been pushed up (please see photo).
